ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Leveraging Global Credentials for Maryland’s Child Care Excellence
Maryland State Family Child Care Association (MSFCCA) presents Phase 2 of the Child Care Advancement Network Building Educators (CCANBE) program, the Global Credentials, Local Opportunities initiative in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University and the Maryland State Child Care Association (MSCCA), funded by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) through the Maryland Rebuilds Grant.
This pioneering program is dedicated to elevating the professional landscape of family child care providers across Maryland, specifically designed to recognize and enhance the value of internationally earned degrees. It offers child care professionals a platform to validate and leverage their global credentials within the U.S. educational framework. Importantly, participants do not need a degree related to education to join; we acknowledge the diverse educational backgrounds that can significantly enrich the child care sector.

Program Highlights
No Cost International Degree Recognition: In partnership with the International Education Research Foundation (IERF), we facilitate the evaluation of foreign credentials, ensuring your international degree is recognized in the U.S. We cover all evaluation costs, removing financial barriers and simplifying your journey toward professional development.
Multilingual Support: MSFCCA and our mentors are dedicated to offering support in multiple languages, such as English, Spanish, and more, ensuring equitable access and success for our diverse community of child care providers. This initiative is part of a broader Multilingual Support effort, designed to ensure that all participants, no matter their primary language, can fully engage with and benefit from the opportunities available. We strive to provide support in these languages to the best of our abilities, accommodating translation needs and offering assistance wherever possible.
2-Year Free MSFCCA Membership: A 2-year membership with MSFCCA offers invaluable benefits for family child care providers. It grants access to high-quality virtual training, essential for meeting licensing, credentialing, and accreditation requirements, at no additional cost. Membership also means being part of a robust professional network, where opportunities for mentoring, technical assistance, and peer support flourish. Furthermore, it empowers you with a voice in legislative and policy discussions, ensuring your interests and those of the children in your care are represented. Lastly, it opens doors to exclusive discounts at annual conferences and inclusion in a statewide provider search, enhancing your professional visibility and growth opportunities. Additionally, participants will be granted a 1-year membership to the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), further enhancing your professional development and access to a wealth of resources and support.
